Jerry Seinfeld responds to protesters during Chicago stand-up
Comedian Jerry Seinfeld was interrupted by pro-Palestinian protesters during a stand-up performance at the Chicago Theatre. The demonstrators shouted accusations regarding the conflict in Gaza, with one attendee alleging that American taxpayer money is being used to fund genocide.
Seinfeld responded to the hecklers with sarcasm, mockingly stating, “Yes, I am a racist. It is a genocide, I am into it.” He also joked that he would determine the cost of the protesters' tickets and send the funds to Israel.
The Anti-War Committee Chicago and the Chicago branch of the US Palestinian Community Network claimed responsibility for the disruption, stating that those who defend Israel's actions in Gaza will be met with opposition on Chicago stages. Security personnel removed the demonstrators from the venue as the confrontation unfolded.
