Jersey Mike's Franchise Consolidates Ahead of Planned IPO
ZoomInfo’s proprietary franchise dataset shows that ownership of Jersey Mike’s outlets is shifting toward larger multi‑unit operators. The top 10 owners now control about 16% of U.S. locations, the top 25 about 25%, and the top 50 roughly 36%; the largest single operator runs about 90 stores (≈3%). Store transfers between franchisees tripled to 218 in 2025, while there were zero terminations or non‑renewals. The chain’s development pipeline includes more than 1,600 stores, with 190 under construction and 59% already opened by July 2026. About one in six owners also run other brands.
The brand ranked No. 1 on Entrepreneur’s 2026 Franchise 500, surpassed $4 billion in system sales and added over 800 new outlets in the past three years. Average unit volume is $1.37 million, with modest growth of 2.8% in 2024 and 2.1% in 2025. Initial franchise investment ranges from $436,000 to $1.16 million, heavily influenced by site selection and lease terms. Multi‑unit owners are securing prime territories as Jersey Mike’s prepares for its initial public offering.
