Jersey teens launch AI solutions at island's first youth hackathon

More than 40 students aged 12‑18 participated in Jersey's inaugural Digital Jersey AI Youth Hackathon, spending two days developing artificial‑intelligence‑powered prototypes for local challenges. The event produced 11 solutions covering affordable housing, community support, healthcare, employment, events discovery and transport.

Judges awarded SideQuest as “Most Impact for Jersey” for its platform that connects islanders with short‑task help, Wise Food won “Best Pitch” with its affordable‑food and carbon‑footprint reduction service, F Park earned “Best Prototype” for unlocking private parking spaces, and the Parish Pal Network received a special judges’ award for addressing loneliness among the island’s ageing population. Digital Jersey organised the hackathon with support from Prosperity 24/7, aiming to boost digital skills and career pathways for young people.
