Jerusalem area settlement expansion: 1,080 new units tendered

The Settlement Resistance Committee reported that Israeli authorities issued two tenders in October for the construction of 1,080 settlement units in and around Jerusalem.

The first tender, number 212/2026, involves 730 units in the Dokhevat complex on the eastern edge of the Pisgat Ze'ev settlement. This project covers approximately 27.529 dunams and includes units for sale, long-term rentals, and commercial and service spaces. The deadline for submitting bids is December 28, 2026.

The second tender, number 207/2026, focuses on 350 residential units specifically designed for the elderly in the Ma'ale Adumim settlement, alongside commercial and operational uses. This project is a re-tendering of a previous attempt (tender 14/2026) that failed to receive any bids. The deadline for this tender is December 30, 2026.

The Committee stated that these projects aim to expand settlement functions and increase their capacity to accommodate various age groups, ultimately seeking to establish permanent demographic and urban realities to consolidate control over Jerusalem and restrict Palestinian expansion.
