Israeli authorities are reportedly expanding the application of the Israeli curriculum to new classes in municipal schools in East Jerusalem, specifically targeting first and seventh-grade students.

Estimates suggest that over 45,000 Palestinian students in Jerusalem—approximately 38 percent of the city's Palestinian student population—will be required to follow the Israeli curriculum during the 2026-2027 academic year. Officials describe this as a systematic attempt to undermine Palestinian national and cultural identity.
