Jerusalem sees surge in settler raids, killings and arrests in July 2026

During July 2026, Israeli forces and settlers intensified actions in occupied Jerusalem. Three Palestinian civilians were killed – a 16‑year‑old boy in Qalandia, a 20‑year‑old man near the separation barrier in Bir Nabala, and a 47‑year‑old man at the Shufaṭ camp checkpoint – and fifteen others were injured by live fire, rubber bullets, tear‑gas and beatings.

The Israeli military carried out roughly 115 arrests of Palestinians and issued dozens of demolition orders, targeting homes and properties in the Old City, Silwan, and the Mount of Olives. At the same time, about 10,000 Israeli settlers entered the Al‑Aqsa Mosque compound, conducting large‑scale raids protected by the army, and carried out religious ceremonies and flag displays. Property seizures included the former Bashir family house in Qalandia and land belonging to the Shaʿbani family in Silwan. These measures are part of a broader strategy to alter the demographic and geographic reality of Jerusalem.
