Jesenje and Petrovsko Municipalities Announce Multi‑Million Infrastructure Projects
On 24 June 2026 the municipal council of Jesenje marked the municipality’s day with a ceremony that highlighted a historic surge in local investment. Projects now total millions of euros, up from previous hundred‑thousand‑euro works, and include the reconstruction of the fire station in Gornje Jesenje, cemetery upgrades, a new tourist bike route to Strahinjčica, a mountain lodge on Brdo Jesenjsko, and the restoration of a historic wooden house. Officials from the Krapina‑Zagorje County and the national government praised the plans and added that the road to Gorjak will be incorporated into the national road network.
Petrovsko also celebrated its municipal day with a council session that launched the construction of a new primary school and adjoining sports hall, largely financed by EU funds with county co‑financing. The project will begin with temporary classrooms at the Slatina school. Additional initiatives include completing water infrastructure for several villages, renovating the hunting lodge, installing PVC windows in a community centre, and acquiring a vehicle for local clubs. Local leaders, a European Parliament member, and the state secretary highlighted the importance of EU funding and the government’s continued support for rural development.
