Jeseníky nature featured in new Czech postage stamps

Czech Post has released a new series of four postage stamps titled ‘Nature Protection: Jeseníky Protected Landscape Area’. Designed by Libuše and Jaromír Knotkovi, the stamps feature the unique flora and fauna of the Jeseníky mountains.

The collection highlights rare species such as the Eurasian nuthatch, the peregrine falcon, and various plants including the alpine star and the mountain bellflower. The designs also incorporate iconic local landmarks, such as the Praděd mountain peak and the Bílá Opava waterfalls.

This release serves as a tribute to the Year of Protected Landscape Areas. The stamps are available for purchase through the Czech Post e-shop and selected branches, with a limited print run of 26,000 sets.
