Jesi and Waiblingen celebrate 30 years of town twinning

The Italian city of Jesi is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its twinning relationship with the German city of Waiblingen. The partnership, originally formalized on October 5, 1996, is being renewed through a series of institutional, cultural, and gastronomic events held from October 3 to October 6, 2026.

The program includes guided tours of Palazzo Pianetti and the historic center, as well as the symbolic planting of an olive tree at the Orti della Pace gardens to represent peace and friendship. Cultural activities also focus on the legacy of Frederick II, featuring visits to the Federico II Museum organized in collaboration with the Federico II Hohenstaufen Foundation.

A central part of the anniversary occurs on October 5, marked by a wreath-laying ceremony at the Famedio and an official ceremony at the Town Hall to sign the renewal of the twinning pact and exchange gifts. The celebrations conclude with visits to the UNESCO-listed Teatro Pergolesi and the Palazzo della Signoria.
