Jesús Acosta arrested in Bronx following $35,000 reward

Jesús Acosta, 31, was arrested in a Bronx park following an anonymous 911 tip. His capture was supported by a $35,000 joint reward offered by the FBI and the United Bodega Association of America (UBA).

Authorities accuse Acosta of a series of violent crimes, including a fatal shooting in Brooklyn at America’s Best Wings and Pizza, where MD Yousuf was killed and another employee was seriously injured. Police also linked him to a robbery at 149 Grill & Deli in Mott Haven, Bronx, where Tayvon Shuler, 33, was shot and killed during a cash register theft.

Investigators identified Acosta through surveillance footage, noting specific tattoos including ‘Bronx’ on his hand and ‘Bobby’ on his left forearm. Acosta has a significant criminal history in New York, with 13 prior arrests dating back to age 14.
