Jesús de la Garsa debuts ‘Renacencia’ collection in Paris
Mexican designer Jesús de la Garsa presented his new luxury prêt-à-porter women's collection, ‘Renacencia’, at La Maison de l’Amérique latine during Paris Fashion Week on September 30. The collection features 15 looks that blend digital technology with traditional craftsmanship.
The prints in the collection are based on original illustrations by artists Alejandra Jaramillo and Estefanía Sánchez. These designs, inspired by flowers, family memories, and Mexican roots, were transferred to textiles using Epson digital printing technologies, including sublimation and Direct-to-Film (DTFilm). This technical approach allows for precise control over colors and details while enabling small-batch production.
Following the digital printing process, the garments undergo manual artisanal work in the workshop, incorporating hand-made elements such as embroidery, crystals, petals, and various applications. The collaboration between de la Garsa and Epson dates back to 2019, when the designer won the Couture Epson competition.
