Spain reports multiple fatal traffic accidents including rally driver death
A series of fatal traffic accidents occurred across Spain on Sunday, August 23. In Ourense, rally driver Jesús López, known as ‘Pijo’, died after his vehicle veered off the track and caught fire during the Subida a Taboadela competition. The accident, which resulted in the cancellation of the event, also injured another driver and a spectator.
In León, a motorcyclist lost his life following a collision with a car on the LE-5601 highway in Villaturiel. Meanwhile, in Alcázar de San Juan, a head-on collision between two cars resulted in the death of a 65-year-old man and left another person seriously injured.
Other reported incidents include a fatal crash in Cereté, Colombia, involving a motorcyclist, and a workplace fatality in Madrid where a worker died after a dumper overturned in Parque Tierno Galván. In Montecristi, a 21-year-old mechanic was found dead and incinerated alongside a vehicle.
