Jesús Luzardo named MLB National League Pitcher of the Month

Jesús Luzardo has been named the Major League Baseball National League Pitcher of the Month for August. The Philadelphia Phillies left-hander achieved a 3-0 record during the month, posting a 1.31 ERA across 34.1 innings pitched.

Luzardo's performance included 46 strikeouts and only nine walks, resulting in a 0.83 WHIP. He recorded two earned runs or fewer in each of his five starts during the period. This recognition marks the first major award of his MLB career and makes him the 10th Venezuelan pitcher to receive this honor.

Throughout the 2026 season, Luzardo has maintained a 13-5 record with a 3.02 ERA and 209 strikeouts in 169.2 innings.
