Jesús to host month-long patron saint festivals
The town of Jesús will celebrate its patron saint festivals in honor of the Mare de Déu de Jesús from August 28 to September 27. Organized by the local Festivities Commission in collaboration with the Santa Eulària des Riu City Council and the Consell d’Eivissa, the month-long program features over fifty activities.
Events include sports competitions such as 3x3 basketball and football, followed by a barbecue and awards ceremony. Traditional celebrations include the ‘fonyada de raïm’, folk music with Sa Colla de l’Horta, and various outdoor activities like hiking, dance classes, and a clay pigeon shooting championship. A notable excursion to Cala d’Espart is scheduled for September 5.
Cultural highlights include a chess tournament, a scrapbooking workshop, and the presentation of the book ‘Vendes i pous, Jesús i es Puig de en Valls’ by Josep Joan i Marí. The festivities will also feature performances by the Danzantes y Dulzaineros de Gallur from Zaragoza.
