Jesse Eisenberg discusses film roles and personal history

At the San Sebastian International Film Festival, actor Jesse Eisenberg discussed his decision to decline a role in the upcoming film ‘The Social Reckoning’. Despite being approached by writer Aaron Sorkin to reprise his role as Mark Zuckerberg, Eisenberg stated that the project did not align with his current creative direction. He expressed a desire to move away from being publicly associated with the tech mogul and voiced support for Jeremy Strong, who will take over the role.

During the same festival, while promoting his new feature ‘The Debut’, Eisenberg shared personal reflections on his childhood. He described himself as a shy and depressed child in central New Jersey who lacked friends until he joined a community theater at age seven. He noted that the film contains autobiographical elements, including scenes inspired by his own experiences in drama school.
