Jesse Eisenberg Granted Polish Citizenship by Donald Tusk

American actor and screenwriter Jesse Eisenberg, whose family traces back to Poland, was formally granted Polish citizenship in March 2025. The ceremony took place at the Polish mission to the United Nations in New York and was officiated by President Andrzej Duda, who highlighted the actor’s Polish‑Jewish roots.

A month later, Prime Minister Donald Tusk met Eisenberg during a visit to the United States and presented him with a Polish national‑team shirt, posting a video that declared, “Poland has a new player.” Eisenberg thanked the officials in both Polish and English. He later traveled to Poland in July, visiting the World War II Museum in Gdańsk and the Podkarpacie region, where he engaged in volunteer work supporting families affected by the war in Ukraine.
