Jesse Eisenberg’s ‘The Debut’ premieres at Telluride Film Festival

Jesse Eisenberg’s third directorial feature, ‘The Debut’, premiered at the Telluride Film Festival to significant acclaim. Produced by A24, the film stars Julianne Moore as a housewife who becomes a zealous method actor after being cast in a community theater production. Paul Giamatti appears as a tyrannical director.

Eisenberg wrote all seven original songs featured in the film. A24 is reportedly focusing its Academy Award campaign on the song ‘This City May Have Chewed Me Up (But It Hasn’t Spit Me Out)’, performed by Moore.

The film is scheduled for a limited release on December 11, followed by a wide release during the Christmas season. It will also screen at the Toronto, New York, and Zurich film festivals.
