Jesse Huerta announces solo project and debut album

Mexican singer-songwriter Jesse Huerta has announced his first solo project, Jesse and the Supernovas, following a hiatus from the duo Jesse & Joy to focus on his family and mental health. Huerta has signed a global distribution deal with Virgin Records to support the project, which will be released through his own newly founded label, Nebulosa Records.

His debut solo album, titled ‘SOMBRERO’, was written, recorded, and produced entirely by Huerta. The musical direction explores new sonic territories, incorporating guitars, synthesizers, and cinematic arrangements. The project was developed during breaks in his previous touring schedule.

Following the instrumental introduction ‘Génesis’, the first official single, ‘Interestelar’, is scheduled for release on digital platforms on October 21. Huerta stated that the project arose from a need to create a personal space for different musical ideas and inquiries that differ from his two decades of work with his sister, Joy.
