Critics have accused the musician of using personal well-being as a pretext for a planned career shift, though Huerta clarified that his break is specifically from the Jesse & Joy brand and not from music itself. He stated, “My break is from Jesse & Joy, not from music,” and maintained that the new project had been planned for months with the knowledge of his team and sister.
