Jesse Huerta launches new musical project Jesse and The Supernovas
Musician Jesse Huerta has launched ‘Génesis’, the debut single from his new independent project, Jesse and The Supernovas. Released on October 7, 2026, the track is primarily instrumental and has a duration of five minutes and 45 seconds. The release is credited to Nebulosa Records and distributed by Virgin Music Group US Latin.
This musical move follows Huerta’s recent announcement regarding a hiatus from the popular duo Jesse & Joy, which he shared with his sister, Joy Huerta, after more than two decades of collaboration. Jesse clarified that while he is taking a break from the duo to focus on personal and family matters, he is not retiring from music. He emphasized that the Jesse and The Supernovas project was planned and scheduled months in advance and is independent of the decision to pause the duo’s activities.
While Jesse pursues this new creative direction, Joy Huerta has stated she will continue to fulfill existing professional commitments and perform the duo’s established repertoire.
