Jesse Lee Calhoun indicted in death of sixth woman

Jesse Lee Calhoun, 41, has been indicted on a charge of first-degree manslaughter in connection with the death of Elizabeth “Libby” Gibson, 32. Prosecutors in Multnomah County believe Gibson was killed around November 18, 2022, though her body has not been recovered.

This indictment marks a sixth potential victim for Calhoun. He is already facing charges of second-degree murder and abuse of a corpse for the deaths of five other women: Ashley Real, Charity Lynn Perry, Bridget Webster, JoAnna Speaks, and Kristin Smith. Calhoun has pleaded not guilty to the existing murder charges.

Calhoun has a criminal history that includes prior assault convictions in Baker County in 2004 and 2008, as well as a 2019 conviction for assaulting a police officer, burglary, and car theft. Multnomah County District Attorney Nathan Vasquez stated that prosecutors intend to try all murder charges in a single trial.
