Jesse Love secures record fifth consecutive Talladega pole

Jesse Love has set a record fifth consecutive NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series pole at Talladega for the Progress Group 250. Driving the No. 2 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet, Love secured the top spot with a lap of 182.626 mph, edging out Jake Finch by 0.002 seconds.

Despite his qualifying success, Love faced challenges during the race. He was penalized for improper fueling on pit road, which forced him to drop to the rear of the field for a restart and complete an additional fuel stop. This penalty follows earlier inspection issues where his vehicle failed inspection twice before the race, though those failures did not impact his pole position.

Love entered the event as the series points leader. His performance at Talladega remains critical as he maintains a points cushion with only three races remaining in the season.
