Jesse Watters discusses Texas Senate race and GOP election strategy

During a broadcast of The Five on Fox News, host Jesse Watters discussed the competitive landscape of the Texas Senate race and broader Republican election strategies. Watters criticized Republican candidate Ken Paxton, noting a “whiff of corruption” surrounding him despite his previous tenure as attorney general. He cited various controversies involving Paxton, including reports of his associations and personal legal matters, suggesting these issues make him a difficult candidate for some voters.

In the same discussion, Watters addressed the need for Republican mobilization. He suggested that highlighting the perceived dangers of Democratic policies—a tactic he referred to as “fear porn”—is necessary to motivate voters. He argued that focusing on the potential negative impacts of Democratic governance on healthcare, taxes, and border security is more effective for voter turnout than focusing solely on past achievements of the Trump administration.
