Jessica Alupo urges African manufacturers to prioritize quality

Ugandan Vice President Jessica Alupo has called on manufacturers across Eastern and Southern Africa to prioritize the production of high-quality goods and services to enhance their competitiveness in international markets.

Speaking at the sixth edition of the East African Quality Awards in Kampala, Alupo emphasized that receiving recognition should be viewed as a responsibility to maintain standards and mentor others rather than a final achievement. She encouraged businesses to utilize platforms such as the Exim Hub to expand their market reach and strengthen the reputation of African brands globally.

Ambassador Patrick Nsubuga, founder of the East and South Africa Quality Brand Awards Company, announced that over 280 brands received a quality seal of excellence during the event. Nsubuga also introduced the Exim Hub, a new platform designed to connect manufacturers with ready markets for both imports and exports to prevent business closures caused by lack of market access.
