Jessica Biel joins cast of Playboy Mansion-inspired film Playmates

Jessica Biel has joined the cast of Playmates, an upcoming Searchlight Pictures drama inspired by director Lorraine Nicholson’s childhood experiences at the Playboy Mansion. Biel will portray a fictional former Playmate and wife of Hugh Hefner, a character created as a composite rather than a depiction of any of Hefner’s actual wives.

Bill Pullman is set to play Hugh Hefner. The film also stars Lily-Rose Depp as Anna, a young woman aspiring to become a Playmate of the Month, and newcomer Indiana Elle as Elle, a 13-year-old girl who grew up around the estate. The story follows the friendship between Elle and Anna as they navigate life and ambition within the mansion.

Playmates marks Nicholson’s feature directorial debut. The project, which Searchlight Pictures acquired late last month, is described as a coming-of-age story set in Los Angeles that explores the social dynamics and unusual environment of the estate through a youthful perspective.
