Jessica Biel rejects nepotism regarding son Silas's acting debut
Actress Jessica Biel has addressed her decision to allow her 11-year-old son, Silas Timberlake, to make his acting debut in the upcoming action-comedy film “Matchbox: The Movie.” During an appearance on “Josh Smith’s Great Chat Show,” Biel explained that she and her husband, Justin Timberlake, established strict boundaries to ensure their son does not receive unfair advantages due to their celebrity status.
Biel noted that while Silas has expressed interest in acting and music, the couple only agreed to the cameo because it was a “teeny tiny” role without significant speaking lines. She emphasized that opportunities in Hollywood should be earned through hard work and training, stating, “You can’t just take a part from that person just because you’re my son. Like, that’s not cool.”
The film, directed by Sam Hargrave and based on the Mattel toy brand, also stars John Cena. Biel mentioned that the decision to let Silas participate was partly influenced by the opportunity for him to spend time with her during filming in Budapest.
