Jessica Chastain stars in new horror film Other Mommy

Universal Pictures has released new promotional material for the upcoming metaphysical horror film ‘Other Mommy’, directed by Rob Savage. A new trailer provides a look at the story, which follows a young girl named Bela who encounters a sinister entity that is a doppelgänger of her mother.

Jessica Chastain stars in dual roles, portraying both Bela’s mother, Ursula, and the uncanny ‘Other Mommy’. A behind-the-scenes featurette titled ‘A New Face of Fear’ highlights Chastain’s performance, detailing how she used subtle facial expressions to create a sense of dread and inhabit the headspace of a creature ‘trying to hold skin on’.

The film is produced by James Wan and involves Blumhouse and Atomic Monster. The plot, based on the novel by Josh Malerman, centers on the psychological and physical control the entity seeks over Bela.
