Jessica Chastain to star in Netflix series ‘The Retrievals’

Jessica Chastain has joined the cast of the upcoming Netflix drama series ‘The Retrievals’. The production is based on the New York Times and Serial Productions podcast of the same name, which investigated a scandal at the Yale Fertility Center.

The series will follow a group of IVF patients who discovered that a nurse had stolen fentanyl intended for their procedures, replacing the medication with saline. This resulted in several women undergoing egg retrieval procedures without adequate pain relief.

Chastain will portray Kaitlyn Langford, an art historian who becomes a key plaintiff in the legal action against Yale University. The cast also includes Emilia Jones and Amy Ryan. The project is executive produced by Molly Smith Metzler, Dani Gorin, Tom Ackerley, and Margot Robbie through LuckyChap.
