Jessica Fox wins women's K1 Kayak World Cup in La Seu d’Urgell
The Kayak K1 World Cup concluded in La Seu d’Urgell with significant performances in the women's and men's categories. In the women's K1 event, Australia's Jessica Fox secured first place with a time of 93.77 seconds. France's Camille Prigent took second place, while Andorra's Mònica Dòria earned the bronze medal with a time of 96.44 seconds, despite a two-second penalty at gate 16.
Three-time Olympic medalist Maialen Chourraut finished sixth in the final after receiving a penalty for touching a gate, which prevented her from improving her time. Chourraut concluded the season third in the overall K1 World Cup standings with 227 points. Other notable Spanish finishers included Laia Sorribes in ninth place.
In the men's category, France's Titouan Castryck claimed victory with a time of 81.80 seconds. He was followed by Italy's Xabier Ferrazzi in second and Giovanni de Gennaro in third. Local athlete Miquel Travé finished eighth in the overall standings, while Pau Echaniz placed ninth in the final.
