Jessica Lange photography exhibition opens at Musei Reali di Torino
The Musei Reali di Torino will host ‘Still Image’, an exhibition featuring over 230 photographs by actress Jessica Lange. Running from October 7, 2026, to February 7, 2027, the collection showcases three decades of work captured primarily with a Leica camera.
Curated by Anne Morin, the exhibition eschews a chronological timeline in favor of thematic sections. The works serve as a visual diary, capturing diverse subjects including Mexico’s Chiapas region, New York during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the American periphery along Highway 61. The collection also includes photo-etchings from the set of the series ‘American Horror Story’.
Lange’s photography is characterized by a sophisticated mastery of light, a skill influenced by her extensive experience in film and theater. The exhibition aims to present photography as a private, emotional reaction to the world, often utilizing minimal captions to allow the imagery and accompanying literary quotes from authors like Bob Dylan and John Steinbeck to drive the narrative.
