Jessica Moss to perform in Coimbra, Portugal

Canadian violinist and composer Jessica Moss will perform a one-time concert in Coimbra, Portugal, on September 5. The performance marks the opening of the 2026/2027 season at the Teatro da Cerca de São Bernardo and will feature her 2025 album, ‘Unfolding’, being played live in Portugal for the first time.

Her music, which blends post-classical, ambient metal, and Eastern European folklore, is described as being composed within a context of political conflict. The album ‘Unfolding’ is dedicated to the cause of Palestinian freedom. Moss has previously supported Palestinian relief efforts through her 2024 digital album ‘For UNRWA’.

In addition to the concert, Moss will lead an artistic residency from September 3 to 10 for young musicians in Coimbra, aged 12 to 18, who specialize in violin family instruments. The residency aims to introduce new methods of composition and creation to the participants.
