Jessica Pegula critiques Cincinnati court speeds ahead of quarterfinals

American tennis player Jessica Pegula has commented on the changing court conditions at the Cincinnati tournament, noting a preference for faster playing surfaces. Following her victory over Emma Navarro, Pegula observed that while the courts remain relatively quick, they are not as fast as they were in previous years when she reached the finals.

Pegula attributed some of the speed changes to the use of Wilson balls on the women's circuit. She also discussed her recent physical recovery and the challenges of transitioning between tournaments in Washington and Toronto.

In the Cincinnati quarterfinals, Pegula is scheduled to face fellow American Amanda Anisimova. Pegula enters the match with a significant advantage, having won all five of her previous encounters against Anisimova, including two matches during the current season.
