Jessica Simpson to star in Netflix documentary in 2027
Netflix has announced a feature-length documentary about singer and entrepreneur Jessica Simpson, scheduled for release in 2027. The project will provide an intimate look at her life and career, covering her rise to fame in the late 1990s, her music success, and her ventures in reality television and fashion.
The documentary will be directed by Joe Pearlman, a BAFTA-nominated filmmaker known for projects such as “Robbie Williams” and “Lewis Capaldi: How I’m Feeling Now.” Production involvement includes former MTV executive Van Toffler, with executive production by Pearlman, Gunpowder & Sky, and Jonathan Silberberg.
Simpson, who has sold over 20 million records globally, recently returned to music with her Nashville Canyon EPs following a 15-year hiatus. The documentary follows her transition from a pop star and reality TV figure on “Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica” to a successful business owner and bestselling author.
