Jesuit Crypt Exhibition in Córdoba Showcases Contemporary Iron Sculptures

The Jesuit Crypt in Córdoba is hosting the free exhibition “Cosmogonía de hierro. Agua, tierra y aire bajo la ciudad,” which brings together contemporary iron and steel sculptures by students of the University Provincial of Córdoba. Curated under the theme “La memoria de la materia: piedra, metal y penumbra,” the show aims to create a dialogue between the historic underground baroque architecture and modern metal works, using lighting to highlight textures and shadows without altering the site’s identity. The exhibition is open Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 17:30 and is part of the broader “Diálogos de la Penumbra” project coordinated by the municipal Department of Culture and the university’s Department of Museums.

Visitors can experience the interplay of stone and metal as the sculptures emerge from the crypt’s dim interior, offering new readings of the space’s heritage while preserving its historical character.
