Jesus heals epileptic boy, teaching faith as a mustard seed

A Gospel commentary recounts the episode in Matthew 17:14‑20 where a father brings his epileptic son to Jesus. The disciples are unable to heal the boy, prompting Jesus to rebuke their "little faith" and to cast out the demon, restoring the child's health. He tells the disciples that even faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains.

Don Luigi Maria Epicoco, the author of the reflections, stresses that true faith means complete reliance on Christ, not merely personal effort. The commentary, published in Italy and the Philippines, uses the story to illustrate how trust in Jesus can overcome seemingly impossible obstacles.
