Jet2 announces aircraft upgrades and fleet expansion

Jet2 has announced plans to upgrade its Airbus A321neo fleet with next-generation, lightweight seating starting in 2027. The new seats are designed to enhance passenger comfort and space while including in-seat power.

The airline is also expanding its fleet, having reached 30 operational A321neo aircraft by mid-2026, with 124 additional deliveries scheduled through 2035. Paul Southall, Jet2’s head of sustainability, noted that the A321neo aircraft support the company’s sustainability strategy due to their efficiency, offering over 20 per cent lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions per seat compared to other aircraft in its class.

Jet2 maintains a significant presence at Stansted Airport, operating 17 aircraft from the Essex-based hub, which serves as the airline’s first base in southern England and its fourth-largest in the UK.
