United Airlines and JetBlue Launch Reciprocal Frequent Flyer Perks

Starting this week, elite members of JetBlue’s TrueBlue program and United’s MileagePlus program receive reciprocal benefits across both airlines' networks as part of their “Blue Sky” partnership. Qualifying members who enter their frequent‑flyer number at booking now enjoy priority boarding (JetBlue Premier Platinum/1K in Group 1, Gold in Group 2, Silver in Group 3; United Mosaic 2‑4 in Group 1, Mosaic 1 in Group 2), complimentary extra‑legroom seats at check‑in (Even More Space on JetBlue, Economy Plus on United), free preferred‑seat selection, one free checked bag with priority handling, and same‑day standby options. The partnership also provides reciprocal priority check‑in and security screening at participating airports.

The new tiered service aligns the two carriers’ boarding groups and expands the earlier interline agreement, which already allowed passengers to earn and redeem points and book flights on either airline’s website. JetBlue’s vice‑president of loyalty, Ed Pouthier, said the update “elevates the experience for our most loyal customers and adds greater value to our brand‑loyal travelers.” The next phase will introduce single‑ticket interline itineraries, enabling travelers to book complex trips involving both airlines under one reservation.

These enhancements aim to blend JetBlue’s leisure‑focused domestic network with United’s extensive global routes, offering elite flyers a more seamless and convenient travel experience.
