JetSMART to launch direct Recife-Montevideo flights in 2027

JetSMART has announced a new direct flight route between Recife, Brazil, and Montevideo, Uruguay, scheduled to begin on January 7, 2027. The airline will initially operate daily flights through the end of March to accommodate the high season.

This new service will increase the total weekly frequency between the two cities to nine flights, adding to the two weekly flights currently operated by Azul Linhas Aéreas. The expansion aims to meet rising demand, as Uruguayan tourism to Pernambuco grew by 21.78% between January and July 2026 compared to the previous year.

This route marks JetSMART’s 16th route in Brazil and strengthens its South American network, which already includes connections from Recife to Buenos Aires.
