Jetstar Japan begins brand transition with arrival of new livery aircraft

Jetstar Japan has begun the process of transitioning to a new brand identity. On September 24, the first “transition livery” aircraft, an Airbus A320 (registration JA18JJ), arrived at Narita Airport.

The aircraft, which had previously been sub-leased to Jetstar Airways in Australia during the pandemic, arrived with its original logos covered by silver and orange paint applied in France. This is part of a broader rebranding effort that is expected to be completed by June 2027. The airline is also restructuring its shareholder base, with Japan Airlines (JAL) and the Development Bank of Japan (DBJ) involved as the company moves away from the Qantas Group.

Following the arrival of this aircraft, Jetstar Japan's fleet includes 23 aircraft, consisting of 20 Airbus A320s and 3 Airbus A321LRs, operating across domestic and international routes.
