Jetstream Aviation Capital delivers Saab 340B freighter to Alaska's Ryan Air

U.S. leasing firm Jetstream Aviation Capital, based in Fort Lauderdale, completed delivery of its first Saab 340B(F) freighter to Anchorage‑based Ryan Air Services. The aircraft, registered N329AE and serial 340B‑329, joined the carrier’s fleet on August 4 and will be used on scheduled and charter cargo flights throughout western Alaska, serving roughly 80 remote communities that rely on air transport for food, medicine and supplies. Ryan Air, founded in 1953 and now run by the third generation of the Ryan family, operates a mixed fleet that includes CASA 212, Cessna 208 and Pilatus PC‑12 aircraft. The Saab 340B(F) has an empty weight of 8,140 kg, a maximum take‑off weight of 13,155 kg, cruises at 271 kt (502 km/h) and can cover up to 935 nm (1,732 km). Jetstream, which holds the world’s largest inventory of Saab 340/200 family aircraft, reports that 34 Saab 340s are currently operating as pure freighters worldwide, with another 23 in storage.
