JetZero unveils Z4 blended-wing-body aircraft

American startup JetZero has unveiled the Z4, a commercial aircraft featuring a blended-wing-body (BWB) design. Unlike traditional tubular fuselages, the Z4 integrates the wings and body into a single structure to increase lift and efficiency.

The aircraft is designed to carry approximately 250 passengers with a range of up to 9,260 kilometers. This configuration is expected to reduce fuel consumption by 30% to 50% compared to current commercial aircraft. The design also aims to provide passengers with more interior space, including wider aisles and more generous overhead compartments.

JetZero has begun construction on a 743,000 square meter manufacturing facility in North Carolina. The company plans to conduct its first test flight by 2027, with the goal of entering commercial service by 2030.
