Jever celebrates 50th anniversary Altstadtfest

The 50th anniversary of the Altstadtfest in Jever took place on August 7 and 8, 2026. The event drew several thousand visitors to the city center over the two-day period.

Police reported that the festivities were largely peaceful, though some minor incidents occurred. This included a physical altercation involving four to five individuals that required medical attention for two people, as well as various disputes mediated by officers on site. Authorities issued several orders to leave the area during the night to prevent further conflict. The Wilhelmshaven/Friesland Police Inspection noted that the cooperation between authorities and the generally respectful behavior of visitors contributed to a successful celebration.
