Jevrosima Pejović attends regional summit in Yerevan

Montenegrin MP Jevrosima Pejović participated in the Regional Summit on Women, Peace, and Security for Europe and Eurasia, held on September 15-16 in Yerevan. Organized by the International Republican Institute (IRI) and the Women’s Democracy Network (WDN), the summit brought together female parliamentarians and representatives to discuss women's roles in peacebuilding, democratic resilience, security, and economic recovery.

During the summit, Pejović highlighted recent legislative changes in Montenegro regarding mandatory health insurance, specifically the introduction of menstrual leave. She noted that addressing painful menstrual cycles in parliament helps recognize women's health needs and raises societal awareness.

Pejović also contributed to a panel on the Western Balkans, focusing on regional security, energy security, and the geopolitical consequences of the Russian aggression in Ukraine. She emphasized Montenegro's commitment to the European Union accession process and the importance of strengthening democratic institutions.
