Jewellery stores targeted in Quebec and Nova Scotia thefts

Recent criminal incidents in Quebec and Nova Scotia have highlighted varying methods used to target retail businesses. In Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, two men allegedly used a distraction tactic to steal tens of thousands of dollars in jewellery from a Main Street business on August 3. Investigators are currently seeking public assistance to identify the suspects.

In Montreal, Quebec, an aggressive smash-and-grab attempt occurred in the Ahuntsic-Cartierville neighbourhood on July 6. Suspects allegedly drove an SUV through a storefront on Fleury Street to steal jewellery. While the suspects fled in a second vehicle, leaving the SUV inside the store, police later apprehended four males, aged 13 to 18, following a vehicle stop.
