Jewelry robbery at Punta Carretas Shopping in Montevideo

Six criminals executed a coordinated robbery at a jewelry store within the Punta Carretas Shopping in Montevideo, Uruguay. The incident occurred around 10:50 AM on a Saturday.

The group arrived on motorcycles and entered the shopping center wearing helmets to conceal their identities. Using heavy flowerpots to smash four armored display cases, the assailants stole a significant amount of high-value jewelry and watches. The group then fled the scene on motorcycles toward the Buceo area.

Police investigators noted that the operation utilized the ‘piraña’ robbery method, characterized by high levels of coordination and the use of blunt force to quickly breach security glass before a rapid escape.
