Jewish educational programs and advocacy initiatives report summer updates

Nearly 200 students participated in the JLIC Summer Program in Israel, engaging in diverse professional and academic internships. Activities included archaeological excavations with the Israel Antiquities Authority, engineering projects focused on building safety, business development at an RF intelligence startup, and public health research at Hebrew University.

In New Jersey, educational leaders gathered at The Moriah School for the Teach NJ Member School Conference. Discussions focused on advocating for Jewish day school funding and the potential impact of a federal scholarship tax credit program set to launch in January 2027. While the program offers support in participating states, New Jersey has not yet opted in. Additionally, Teach NJ has been selected by the New Jersey Department of Education to represent the nonpublic school community on the state’s School Funding Steering Committee.
