Jewish-Kurdish Congress held in London involves Israeli officials

A Jewish-Kurdish Congress was held in London, organized by Tel Aviv University and led by Yehuda Ben Yosef, President of the Israel Kurdish Jewish Community. While presented as a civil and academic event, the gathering included members of the British Parliament and received support from the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the event, former Sur Mayor Abdullah Demirbaş presented an award to Tel Aviv-based academic Ofra Bengio. Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar also sent a video message emphasizing the importance of relations between Jews and Kurds.

The congress follows a previous meeting in Berlin. Discussions at the event included the arming of PJAK against Iran and references to the ‘Arz-ı Mev’ud Alliance’ (Promised Land Alliance) thesis, which has implications for regional stability and the political landscape regarding Turkey.
