Jewish schools report growing enrollment despite rising antisemitism

Data from the Yael Foundation indicates that despite rising global antisemitism, most Jewish schools are experiencing stable or increasing enrollment. An analysis of 145 educational institutions across 48 countries shows that 78 percent of schools reported no decline in student numbers, with 52 percent seeing growth compared to the previous year.

The foundation has expanded its financial support, increasing its funding volume from approximately 7.14 million to 9.57 million euros. This includes efforts to address teacher shortages by raising salaries at partner schools and investing in building renovations. Growth in student numbers was noted in countries including France, Germany, Brazil, Estonia, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Norway, and Portugal, as well as in Switzerland.

In Germany, the German-Israeli Summer Camp 2026 brought together 280 young people from both nations for a week of exchange and workshops in Berlin. The program, attended by German Federal Minister Karin Prien and Israeli Ambassador Ron Prosor, aimed to build trust and mutual understanding through shared activities and commemorative ceremonies at Holocaust memorial sites.
