J&F plans LNG terminal and thermoelectric plant in Suape

The J&F group is planning to construct a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal and a large-scale thermoelectric power plant in the Suape Port region of Pernambuco, Brazil.

The project aims for an integrated operation that combines the receipt of imported gas via ships, regasification, and energy generation within the same area. The venture, involving investments worth several billion reais, will be developed by Âmbar Energia, a company within the group that currently manages 59 generation units with 6.3 GW of installed capacity.
