JFTD Hanakupitto to provide 100,000 free flower education books to Japanese schools

JFTD Hanakupitto, in collaboration with Social Service Co., Ltd., will provide 100,000 copies of a free supplementary educational resource titled ‘O-hana de Tsutaeru Yasashii Kimochi ni Dokidoki’ to elementary schools across Japan starting in September 2026.

Targeting students in grades 3 through 6, the materials are designed to promote ‘Hanaiku’ (flower education). The curriculum covers the history of flower-giving culture, the emotional impact of receiving flowers, seasonal significance, and practical skills such as selecting flowers and researching flower meanings.

The initiative aims to foster appreciation for flowers and cultivate a culture of expressing gratitude and celebration through floral gifts. As part of the program, a flower coloring contest will be held, with winning entries scheduled for exhibition at the 2027 International Horticultural Expo (GREEN×EXPO 2027) in Yokohama.
